Our Projects

ON-GOING PROJECTS

Some of our projects involve helping with an urgent, immediate need and some are more long-term in nature.
Our two ongoing projects are, The Belize Children’s Project and Polio Plus.

SCHOOL AND COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS

Improving the community and the life of its members is what Rotary is all about. Below are some of the projects we were involved in that directly affected the schools and programs around Belmopan. Most of these included Rotary members getting their hands dirty, sweating, and having a great time giving back to the city they love.

Some of the other projects that the Belmopan Rotary Club has been involved include helping to paint corridors at the Belmopan hospital, holding blood donation drives at UB, working with the Belmopan city council to place dozens of trash barrels around town to help keep the city clean, conducting mock interviews with students to prepare them for the work world, creating playgrounds at local schools and working with the Rotaractors to implement several other community based service projects – such as improving the hospital playground and placing garbage cans in local parks.

Some of our community projects:

  • Disaster Relief
  • Mask Donations
  • Food Pantry
  • Bathrooms for an Armenia Primary School
  • Bathrooms for a Roaring Creek Primary School
  • Computer Network for Our Lady of Guadalupe School
  • Belmopan Library Renovation
  • Rotaract Workathon
  • Well for Belize Christian Academy
  • Bathrooms for Las Flores Primary School
  • Chairs for Belmopan Community Preschool
  • Essay Contest
  • Christmas Projects
  • Wheelchair Donations
  • Spanish/English Dictionary Project

FUNDRAISERS

Fundraising is an integral part of Rotary. We plan regular events that are fun for the public and raise money to fund the many community service projects the Club supports. Our primary fundraiser – the annual Wine and Cheese – support our Belize Children’s Project. Just recently we were able to help the blood collection department at the hospital get a much needed cooler to store blood collected during blood drives. It is our hope that the Belize Duck Race and other fund raising efforts will allow us to help more organizations that need some funds to better serve the community.
