Parade and Toys Make For Happy Christmas
Rotary and Rotaract spearheaded the effort collect toys and have a Christmas parade in Belmopan. The parade consisted of about 15 floats from companies like Vision Builders, Kiko Escalante Music Box, Mena Group and Builders Hardware. Of course, Santa and his wife were in attendance to spread joy to all. The parade lasted for little over three hours and went through Belmopan and surrounding villages. During that time over 2,500 toys, collected from generous people and organizations within Belmopan, were given to children in the area.
We would like to extend thanks to everyone that help collect the toys and organize the parade. In particular we would like special thanks to the Mayor López and his wife for attending, all the organizations that created floats for the parade, and the organizations that collected toys during December.
